Get ready to list your vehicle by having these details on hand:

The VIN is a combination of 17 letters and numbers. It can be found on your vehicle's insurance papers, on a sticker inside the driver's side door jamb, or at the very bottom of your windshield on the driver's side.

Odometer Reading

Have the current odometer reading of the vehicle on hand for an accurate pricing recommendation.

How should I get my vehicle ready to sell?
1. Thorough Cleaning: Give your car a deep clean, both inside and out. A clean and well-maintained appearance can make a significant impression on potential buyers, enhancing the perceived value.

2. Address minor issues such as dents, scratches, broken lights, or worn-out parts. These fixes can enhance the overall look and functionality of the car, making it more appealing.

3. Complete Maintenance: Ensure the car is up-to-date with routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks. A well-maintained car suggests reliability to buyers.

4. Gather Documentation: Organize all relevant documents, including the vehicle's title, service records, and any warranties. A comprehensive history can instill confidence in potential buyers.

5. Take High-Quality Photos: Capture clear, well-lit photos from various angles, both inside and outside the car. High-quality images showcase the car's features and condition, attracting more potential buyers online. If you need more guidance on how to take high-quality photos, read our article on the topic.

6. Create a Detailed Listing: Craft a detailed and accurate listing that highlights the car's features, maintenance history, and any upgrades. Provide as much information as possible to give buyers a clear understanding of the car's value.

By investing time and effort into these steps, you can increase your car's appeal, present it in the best possible light, and ultimately sell it faster and for a higher price.

Should I purchase a CARFAX Vehicle History Report?
A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is a comprehensive vehicle history report that provides information about a used car's past. It includes details such as previous owners, accident history, title and registration issues, mileage readings, service records, and more. CARFAX gathers data from various sources, such as DMV records, insurance companies, and service facilities, to help buyers make informed decisions about the condition and reliability of a used vehicle. This report can uncover potential red flags and give buyers confidence in their purchase by revealing important information that may not be apparent from a simple visual inspection of the vehicle. For a more detailed explanation of vehicle history reports, read all about it here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A standard CARFAX Vehicle History Report does not include information about British Columbia accident history, and requires purchasing an additional report from ICBC. All CARFAX reports purchased through BCAA Auto Marketplace include the additional ICBC accident history report.
How do I purchase a CARFAX Vehicle History Report?
A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is included if you purchase the Ultimate Seller Package when listing a vehicle, and it will be automatically added to your listing. Buyers can also purchase a CARFAX report when viewing a vehicle’s listing details.
