I purchased the vehicle from a customer of a car repair shop in San Marcos, California (north county, San Diego) where I had my, then, Honda Prelude serviced.  This garage specialized in repair/maintenace of Japanese vehicles.  The owner I purchase from had bought the vehicle new.  He decided to sell it, as it had just passed 200,000 MILES (NOT km.) on the odometer.  (It is a US vehicle so the odometer reading is in miles).   The garage had serviced this vehicle from the time it was bought new by the seller.  I had, and examined the original owners service records at the time I purchased it in 2007.  About a year, perhaps 2 years later, the engine overheated when I was returniong to San Diego from Las Vegas.  Faulty thermostat.  The car then had about 240,000 miles on it.   Despite the high mileage I had the engine rebulit at the repair shop in San Marcos.  I no longer have the service records of this work (done in 2008 or 2009) but as I recall the cost was about $4,500 US.  It proved worthwhile as the car now has  384,949 MILES on it and still runs well, starts first time everytime.  Despite its age there is little to no rust anywhere on the vehicle.  From new purchase until my return to Canada in 2013, the car was exclusivley in the US southwest: Californa, Nevada, Arizona.  I lived in Kamloops briefly (from about May 2013 to April 2015) after returning to Canada.  Thereafter til now, the car and I have resided in Vancouver or Naniamo.  In short, the car's exposure to ice, snow and salted roads was of short duration. One quirk: I had to have 'after market' 'daylight running lights installed on the car when "importing" it in 2013.  For some reason the fuse for this function has to be 'pulled' when the car is seviced  in order to 'reset' (ie. turn off) the "Maintenace Required" light that appears on the dashboard    The car has been well maintained since I bought it. I have service records and have uploaded current reccords.  For seceral years I have qualified for ICBC 'less than 10,000 km/year discount.
